| Humane dog fence a work in progress.... | | We recently put in a humane dog fence to keep our dogs on our property after a run in with the neighbors cat. We live right next to the game lands so it is diaher that we keep our dogs onn our property and out of the woods. So we put in an electric fence. The older dog is suprising having the most problems with the fence. Our younger dog, Dozer, here's the beeps and turns right around without getting shocked. The older dog, Thor, keeps challenging the fence, and ends up getting shocked, then stays on the porch the rest of the day because he is scared. So I guess it is a work in progress, and hopefully we can get them trained soon.Has anyone used a humane dog fence before? How did you train your dogs to stay on your property? Are younger dogs easier to train then older dogs? | |
| | Do underground fences work? | | We just got a lab puppy and i want to make sure he stays safe. We live on Main st in our town. It is a small town, but still dangerous to live in Main st if you have a pet. I was thinking about getting one of those underground electric fences for him, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the money. Do they work? Are there any negatives to have one? My friend told me it zaps them if they get close to the line, but once they are across it stops zapping them. So he braves the zap to get over the line then he'll get out on the street. Are they worth it? | |
