Fleas on Cats?? How do you prevent them???
I just finally got rid of the fleas on my dogs by buying some expensive flea meds... after trying several other things that didn't work.I think we finally got rid of them, but I'm still concerned about my cat because he is an indoor/outdoor cat and he's probably the one who brought the fleas home. He doesn't wear a collar, because he scratches at them so much, that it's pointless to try and make him wear one, he'll just shred it... no joke... so that option is out.And we put some flea meds on his skin that we got from the pet store, but it's just the cheap stuff, and by the hell we went through to get rid of the fleas on our dogs, i'm not convinced it'll be enough to keep them off my cat...So any flea meds you can suggest that work well on cats? I'm using K9 Advantix on my dogs, and it seems to have done the trick, but they don't make a cat brand...Thanks for the help!P.S. What about tea tree oil?
It is Time to Let Off the Bug Bombs
I have tried to use other ways to get rid of these dang fleas, but to no avail. The cats are sporting new flea collars and I have used treatments to help them to kill the fleas they are carrying about. The fleas in our carpets are not going away. Tomorrow I am letting off the bug bombs. Time to get down and dirty with the little buggers. I am tired of getting my ankles and feet bitten to bits.
Love My Cats, but they are Flea Bags
My cats are sweet, cuddly and affectionate. They bring us gifts from their hunting expeditions. The one thing that they have brought home and I am not happy with is fleas. I have treated each of them with a flea killer. I have sprinkled flea powder on the carpets. But, the nipping, biting little devils will not go away. Tomorrow I will be heading off to find some flea bombs. After I secure the fish tank and scoot the cats outdoors, I am setting the bombs off. I do not like to go to such drastic measures, but there seems to be no other way to rid our home of the invaders.
fleas! everywhere!
I need help. My two dogs got into my neighbors yard, little to my knowledge brought home more pets. They are now flea infested, and are now all over my house. I have done the flea bombs, treated the dogs, done the flea spray on the furniture and they just seem to be getting more and more! I am about ready to just move from my home and leave everything behind! I don't know what else to do. Can somebody please give me some advice that will work? This has never happened before. The dogs are fine now, to an extent, but my house is not. The never ending cycle seems to be going on right now, animals to furniture, etc. I have quarantined them but I miss them[em]sad[/em] . What can I do?
How do you get rid of fleas?
We are at our wits end with fleas. Our beloved dog just passed away. She was an older dog, a cocker spaniel and lived a good long life. We had always used advantage on her and we never had any problem with fleas. Well, our finances weren't doing too well and we had to cut back and advantage was one of those items. To help with the flea problem, we would take our dog to get a flea dip. Within the last few months, I bought advantage for my dog and cat. The advantage didnt seem to work like they used to. The problem was so bad, we couldnt even walk anywhere in the house without fleas jumping on you. Well, our dog died of old age, heartworm disease and of course, there were the fleas. Our problem now, is still with the fleas. We can't get rid of them. We have them inside and outside. My husband suggested us using flea bombs. My concern is my daughter is pregnant and I wouldn't want anything to harm the baby. What would you use? Any suggestions would be helpful. I heard that if you put borax on the carpet that it would help kill the fleas. Flease help!
