| How can I get my dog to play? | | I have a dog that is almost 12. I know she's getting old but she doesn't want to play with anything. It's not that she can't move or run or anything like that. She can still do that. I just can't get her to chase anything like a ball or toy. She just looks at it like I'm crazy for expecting her to chase it. Do dogs do that when they are getting older? Maybe they're like people. I'm slowing down too as I'm getting older lol.[em]wink[/em] | |
| | Teaching a dog to play dead | | A friend of mine would hold up her hands a make a motion as if shooting off guns and say Bang Bang and her dog would play dead.
It was adorable.
Does anyone out there know how to teach a dog to play dead? | |

| | Penny, Menchi and Ciara | | Menchi, my granddogger came to visit for a while today. As you can see, she gets along just fine with my dogs, though this was taken about 15-20 minutes after she got here, in order to remind my dog that they can't play with Menchi the way they play together. You can also see how Menchi can hold her own if she needs to, as she plays with Penny, Penny has to put her foot up to block Menchi..(For those who are worried about Menchi, don't be, she has a way out if it gets too rough, I'd never leave the dog to play on their own like this.)I can't wait until they all grow up and stop playing so rough. But that's puppies for you...[em]lol[/em]Do you like to watch puppies play? I only get concerned if there is growling which ironically if anyone growls here, it's Menchi..:) | |

| NEW Neighbors dog barks EVERY time a car comes down the street...ARGGG!! | | I just had new neighbors move in a few days ago. Their back yard and side yard are alongside mine. They allow their dog to play in the side yard and every time a car comes down the street which is fairly often, it barks it's head off. I haven't met them yet and really need some advice. I don't want the first thing I say to them is that they need to train their dog. I thought at first the dog would settle down but that doesn't seem to be happening, it seems to be getting worse!!! And they leave him out all day while they are at work. I work from home so it's an issue. I know there is a law about leaving animals outside all day but really dont' want to even think about bringing that up unless I have too. Any advice on how to approach my new neighbors and find a way to work this out?? They do know it's an issue since I have heard them telling the dog to settle down and he does when he hears them at least until the next car comes. He's a small dog with a big bark and it's driving me crazy!! Any ideas?? | |
| | Another puppy | | I have this feeling that my almost 6 month old tea cup poodle needs another dog to play with. I really want to get another puppy for my puppy. I'm not sure when I should get another dog of the same breed or a different breed for him to play with. He seem okay being by himself all of the time. But if my and my fiancee have to leave him all day I don't want my puppy to feel lonely. Me and my fiancee have talked about getting another pet. How long should an owner wait before getting another puppy or another pet in general. I know we wont have to worry about puppy's can I had my 6 month old dog recently fixed a month ago. | |

| Movie:The Proposal. Do you like it? | | I went to watch The Proposal last week with my friend, as expected is a very funny comedy with love touching proposal in the end. The funniest part is that Andrew (Ryan) accidentally saw Margret (Sandra Bullock) naked body. The cute little dog also play a main character to make me laugh a day out. What is your guy review for this movie? Is it same with me? | |
| | From Stray Dog To Movie Star! | | Finding the perfect dog to play Papi, the tough but tender-hearted hero of the hit movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua, wasn't easy. For weeks trainer Mike Alexander had searched breeders and pet stores before spotting a photo of a big-eared Chihuahua mix named Rusco on a resuce Web site. But the abandoned pup had been at a shelter in Moreno Valley, Calif, for two weeks -- and could be put down any day. "The shelter told me to hurry," recalls Alexander, who raced 120 miles to see Rusco. From the moment he laid eyes on the mutt, Alexander knew he had found a star. "Rusco was sticking his chest out, bouncing around and shredding newspapers," says the trainer, who adopted the dog without hesitation. "He had attitude."Over the next six months, Rusco learned to jump from a moving van and latch onto a villain's nose. He also settled into his new home, sharing an oversize bed with his Chihuahua costar Angel. "The first time I saw him, I thought, "This dog is a badass," says George Lopez, who voiced Papi's character. "I've got three Chihuahuas at home and the three combined are not nearly charming as Rusco." Or as lucky. | |
