Kennel House of Fun, For All Your Dog Supply Needs

There is a huge market in pet supplies ranging from low cost pet food and treats, up to deluxe accessories, bedding and toys. There are many companies supplying this market, some specialise in food and treats while others cater for clothing, bedding and toys. Clothing and bedding is largely a market for cats and dogs, although there are some supplies available for smaller animals such as ferrets, birds and fish. There are special cages for small animals such as ferrets, aquariums for fish and a huge range of cages in many shapes and sizes for birds.

Dog and cat beds come in a huge range of shapes and sizes to suit all budgets. It is possible to buy anything from a simple square or oblong foam mattress to a deluxe leather chair with faux fur cushions. Many of these beds are made for the smaller dogs and cats but if you have the budget there are some beds that will suit larger dogs that also make attractive furniture. There are flat beds, rugs, mattresses of many shapes and thickness up to 6" deep as well as beds with raised walls in the shape of baskets that are made in many types of materials, such as bamboo, cane and foam rubber.

There is also a wide range of clothing available for dogs including jumpers, coats and parkas for very cold weather and collars for both dogs and cats in a range of sizes and materials. As many councils now require dogs and cats to be registered and tagged it is necessary for them to wear a collar at all times to hold this identification. Cat collars are usually made with some elastic in them so they can stretch which helps to minimise the risk of them being caught on objects such as branches. This can be a real risk is the cat is allowed outdoors as they love to climb.

Dog collars tend to be much stronger and less flexible as they must be able to support a leash. While smaller dogs can wear lighter, softer collars, large dogs need quite strong collars to prevent the collar breaking when they pull on the lead. All dog collars have a metal ring on them enabling a lead to be attached by a clip. If the collar does not have a ring and is flexible then it is most likely a cat collar and not a dog collar. This is something you need to check carefully before purchasing.

There is also a huge range of toys available for dogs and cats. Cats love to climb and need to scratch to sharpen their claws. This can be a real problem in the city where there are very few trees and where being outside can be dangerous for them. In order to stop them sharpening their claws on your furniture it is best to get them a scratching post. There is a large range of cat furniture available from simple posts covered in carpet to large elaborate pieces of furniture called trees. These trees not only have carpet posts for scratching but include cat beds and play areas. There many designs on the market from trees that are shaped like a cactus with lots of carpet covered posts with platforms for the cat to lie on, to elaborate constructions that are made of bark and look like trees. These trees have hiding spaces in them for the cat to play as well as carpet for scratching and beds for the cat to sleep in.

There is also a large range of toys available to suit dogs for every occasion. Dogs love to chew and when puppies will chew anything they find. It is necessary to train them not to chew the furniture as early as possible so a toy that is designed to be chewed is vital. There are many toys to help deal with this in the shape of bones, some made of hide which also act as teeth cleaners, others made to last and give the dog something to chew especially while teething. Lastly there are also many toys for playing with your dog, such as balls in a variety of shapes and toughness. Some toys are suitable for the dog to play with on its own, such as plush toys, while others are for interaction between your and your dog, such as balls, frisbees, and ropes for playing tug of war, a game that dog2:50 PM 8/21/2009s love.
